Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel - Product Review
Let's get straight into this shall we? So I received the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel complimentary from Influenster for testing and/or review, and I've been using it for about 2 weeks now.
Product description:
"Instantly quenches skin and keeps it looking smooth, supple and hydrated day after day. The unique water gel formula absorbs quickly, like a gel, but has the long-lasting, intense moisturizing power of a cream. It boosts skin's hydration level and locks it in all day.
Purified Hyaluronic Acid
Naturally found in skin, hydrating hyaluronic acid acts as a sponge for dry skin cells, moisturizing with up to 1,000 times its weight in water, resulting in more supple and smooth skin.
Oil-free
Non-Comedogenic
Ingredients:
Water, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Phenoxyethanol, Polyacrylamide, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Dimethiconol, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Chlorphenesin, Carbomer, Laureth-7, Sodium Hyaluronate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Fragrance, C12-14 Pareth-12, Sodium Hydroxide, Blue 1
Now that was a mouthful. I understood Water and Blue. But I wanted to try it to test its claims. First off, it seems as if this product is made for dry skin, what with its "moisturizing up to 1,000 times in water" capabilities. I have the oiliest of skins. The OILIEST. I carry blotting papers with me everywhere I go, like car keys. If the Middle East were to ever run out of oil, please feel free to drop a few wells on my face. But I digress (as I tend to do when writing).
The first time I opened the jar, what hit me was the smell, let me rephrase that, I don't want you to think it was Oscar's garbage can. The first thing that hit me was the scent. I loved it! It's not overpowering and it's not too subtle. It's light and fresh, like Summer (if it had a smell). I'm very sensitive to smells so I was pleasantly surprised.
The feel of it is also very light, and as advertised, gel-like so it absorbed quickly into my skin. If you're heavy handed like me, beware, it's very easy to go ham on your face and put too much, like I did the first time. Since it spreads very easily, a touch is all you need on each part of your face and neck. Afterwards my face looked quite matte and felt moisturized without looking like an oil slick, as most moisturizers tend to do to my face. I still got oily about half hour later, but that's normal for me, I'm just happy it wasn't overly so. I think both dry and oily skins would like this, but everyone is different so one does not fit all.
I'm sure this jar will last me a long time, as it's a good bit of product. Kudos to Neutrogena for making an oil-free moisturizer for us oily girls, we appreciate it! Thank you to Influenster for sending me this complimentary to try.
I hope this helped some of you oily girls out there, I really did like this product and hopefully this will stay in my arsenal. Thank you for reading my very first post on my blog, stay tuned for more reviews :) @Neutrogena @influenster #BehindTheGlow #Neutrogena #contest
